Equity Statement

Dr. Colleen Gest believes treatment of pelvic floor issues and perinatal musculoskeletal health conditions is a valuable and under-served area of healthcare. She recognizes the importance of the intersection of pelvic and perinatal health with race, financial status, gender, and many other factors—and strives to provide equal access to pelvic physical therapy treatment for all.

I have to say, when someone suggested pelvic floor physical therapy after my c-section, I was skeptical. Mostly because I had never heard of it and my OB never recommended it. Well, a friend of mine suggested Colleen at Foundations and now I owe her a ton of gratitude. After one visit and using the amazing exercises I learned, I felt more like my old self! I was able to go on longer hikes with my husband and do a lot more around the house. If I need more PT, I’m going straight back here.

Colleen is kind, attentive, and always answers questions thoroughly. The exercises she's given me have helped immensely to strengthen my hips and pelvic floor and resolve pain there. She checks in regularly and makes you feel well-cared for.

I was a gymnast my whole life and thought stress incontinence was just a fact of life. In just 2 visits + exercises at home, Colleen has given me back my freedom and confidence! Colleen is so personable and friendly! She takes her time to listen and understand before jumping into treatment. All of her paperwork is inclusive too, so there are no checkboxes to conform to and I felt I could really give her a true history of my issues. This is a safe space and I felt comfortable sharing my concerns with the PT. I highly suggest Foundations PT for all your pelvic floor needs!

"Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events. It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." —Robert F. Kennedy
